Storming the Rift

Overview

Storming the Rift is an arcade-style space shooter that pairs realistic graphics and a true-to-life flight model with fast, readable, pick-up-and-play action. Players pilot a strike fighter through towering megastructure canyons, threading the gap between arcade thrill and simulation weight.

The core loop is canyon-runner in spirit: dive into the rift, weave the terrain, fight through waves, and push to the end of the level at speed.

Gameplay

  • Grounded flight model — momentum and inertia matter, but controls stay approachable.
  • Canyon-runner levels set inside vast, hostile rift structures.
  • Wave-based combat against enemy fighters and emplacements.
  • Arcade scoring rewarding speed, precision, and survival.

Craft & Tools

Built in Unreal Engine, with an emphasis on cinematic lighting, volumetrics, and a sense of scale — the look the key art above is aiming for.

Status

In active development. Flight, weapons, and a first rift level are taking shape. A playable demo and store page are planned.
